Best Time to Visit the Paris Catacombs

How Long Does it Take to Visit the Catacombs of Paris?
Most visitors spend around 45 minutes to one hour exploring the Catacombs of Paris. The official visitor circuit is approximately 1.5 kilometers long and follows a one-way route through the underground tunnels.
Visitor numbers are limited to 200 people inside the site at the same time. During busy periods, entry may be temporarily paused to regulate the flow of visitors. Visitors typically explore the route independently with an audio guide, while guided tours may take slightly longer, especially when they include historical explanations or access to restricted sections.Visitors should also be aware that the route includes 131 steps down and 112 steps up, as well as uneven floors, narrow passages, and dim lighting in some sections.
